The Safe Circle programs are complimentary programs for parents, teachers, young adults, and helping professionals.


As a participant in the program, you will learn about what trauma is, its prevalence in Singapore, how it affects our children and youth, and how to integrate trauma-informed care into your work and life.

Trauma Informed Care Workshops for Educators

Educators are trusted adults that a student has access to in difficult times.

This course equips educators with the knowledge to interpret a student’s behaviours with a trauma-informed lens. It develops the skills required to manage, coach and support students who may appear to be difficult, rebellious, anxious, fearful or aggressive. 

The course is designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  1. To promote a shared understand of trauma and its prevalence in Singapore

  2. To inform how traumatic events can affect the mental health of children and youth

  3. To learn how to identify and interact with children and youth coping with trauma

An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care

Length: 45 mins | 50 pax onwards

A teaser for our other workshops, this introductory talk explores what a shared understanding of trauma entails, its prevalence in Singapore, and how trauma can be caused by an event like the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants also learn how to identify trauma in children and youths. This program is suitable for large groups, including assembly talks and “lunch and learns”.

Length: 240 mins | 12–30 pax onwards

Our interactive programs have been designed for educators in mind. Learn how to integrate trauma-informed care into your interactions with children and youths, as we help you understand:


1. What trauma entails
2. Trauma-informed approaches
3. Implementation of trauma-informed care
4. Healing and recovery

Trauma Informed Care Workshops for Helping Professionals

Helping professionals are the frontliners providing care and assistance to vulnerable populations.

 

This course equips helping professionals with the toolkit and safe spaces to discuss how to apply a trauma-informed approach towards the management of clients in their care.  

The course is designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  1. To develop a deeper understanding of trauma and how it manifests in the client

  2. To apply the principles of trauma-informed care to foster stronger therapeutic alliances

  3. To deepen one’s understanding of the management of trauma cases.

Parents represent the first significant relationship that is available to the child.

This course equips parents with trauma-informed care knowledge to appreciate what the child is going through and the skills to improve communication with the child. 

The course is designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  1. To equip the parent with the knowledge of how adverse childhood experiences can lead to mental health issues in adulthood

  2. To develop an understanding of the principles of trauma-informed care

  3. To integrate trauma-informed care knowledge in one’s interaction with the child

Peers turn to friends in difficult times and the mode of interaction is often through text.

This course equips peers with a general understanding of trauma and trauma-informed care principles and the appropriate support to offer to a friend going through a tough time.

The course is designed to achieve the following learning objectives:

  1. To gain a shared understanding of trauma and how it relates to mental health

  2. To learn about the principles of trauma-informed care 

  3. To integrate principles of care and offer appropriate support to distressed peers
